Plot summary
Eun-hee is fourteen and lives in Seoul in 1994, the year she gets ready for high school. She draws, she goes to cram school with her best friend Ji-suk, and she is secretly dating a boy named Ji-wan. Her parents see to her older brother's needs and pass her over, and her older brother mistreats her, and her older sister is treated much the same way. At the cram school Eun-hee meets Young-ji, a free-spirited teacher from China, and the two begin to form a bond. One night she goes dancing with Ji-suk and meets Yu-ri, a girl from another school who has a crush on her.

- Director Kim Bora spent three years hunting for the actress to play Eun-hee before casting Park Ji-hu, who in her first audition read a scene opposite her onscreen mentor Yeong-ji; Bora called her "everything I was hoping for".
- Kim Bora drew on her own childhood and the 1994 collapse of the Seongsu Bridge for the film, aiming to make what she called "a fictional film based on very personal experiences".
