Plot summary
Back from Vietnam, Jon Rubin has ambitions as a filmmaker and a rundown flat in Greenwich Village. He mounts a camera at his apartment window and spies on the neighbors across the street, among them Judy Bishop. The producer Joe Banner hires him to make a pornographic film, and Rubin uses the opportunity to seduce Judy and to record the two of them with the camera on the window. It tilts while it runs and spoils the footage, and Banner withdraws his offer. Another neighbor heads an experimental acting troupe that stages its own productions, and Rubin takes a part in its work.
