Hardball: The Girls of Summer (2019) on Netflix

Plot summary

The US Women's National Baseball Team, ranked among the best in the world, plays baseball rather than softball, and its members want recognition in a sport that has long shut women and girls out. They chase gold at the Women's Baseball World Cup, along with professional careers and chances for the girls who follow them. Five elite American players are at the center of the story, which takes in gender roles, women's athleticism and what families expect of their daughters. Their push comes in a period when other barriers are being challenged, six decades after Jackie Robinson broke baseball's color barrier.
