Plot summary
On the Greek Isles, contemporary digs share the screen with historical reenactments and digital re-creations. A Greek archaeologist of the 21st century works at one of the digs, recovering the hidden history of his ancient ancestors, and his work is presented as a detective story. The digital re-creations, made for IMAX theaters, restore the Parthenon as it originally stood and rebuild the eruption of 1646 BC that buried Santorini. The film also covers the Golden Age of Greece and the Classical advancements of that era, such as philosophy, theater, democracy and the Olympic Games, ideas and inventions that still astound the world today.
