Plot summary
At the wedding of Qiu Ya, the classmate he admired in school, Xia Luo drinks until he declares his love for her in front of the guests. His wife, Ma Dongmei, then tells everyone what a poor husband and provider he is. He locks himself in a bathroom, curses his own life and blacks out. He comes to in a middle-school classroom in 1997, inside his teenage body, and treats the scene as a dream: he hits his scornful teacher, sets the room alight, kisses Qiu Ya and jumps from a window. A hospital bed and a second waking convince him the year is real. Since his adult memories include two decades of songs not yet written, he plans to claim them as his own and use the fame to win Qiu Ya.
