- Vincenzo Alfieri's 2019 film Gli uomini d'oro is inspired by the real 1996 robbery of the Turin post office, a case that had already been adapted for cinema in 2000 as Qui non è il paradiso.
- The protagonists are named after past Torino and Juventus players: Luigi Meroni and Alvise Zago were Torino forwards, while Luciano Bodini was the reserve goalkeeper of Juventus in the 1980s.
