Plot summary
American football is a foreign game in Chile, where soccer is the dominant sport. Carlos Zuniga, a volunteer coach, gives at-risk teenage boys the chance to learn and play it. His players come from poverty and delinquency, and the game gives them a way to rise above it. Zuniga attended the University of Miami and played semi-professional football before coming home to build a team. Alex Guerrero, the defensive coach, arrived from Arizona in 2012. The team also learns fundamentals of English and ideas about American life. Zuniga presses city officials for recognition and money, and they show no interest.
