Plot summary
Peter Egermann visits a prostitute named Ka and kills her. In Munich, a coroner asks Peter's friends for an explanation. The psychiatrist Mogens Jensen says he is shocked. Peter is married to Katarina, a career woman; they have no children. Twenty days earlier, Peter told Jensen that homicidal thoughts, aimed mainly at Katarina, plagued him. Jensen thought the thoughts were probably not serious, but told Katarina to leave town. She called the warning absurd and, in a busy work season, said she could not go.
