Plot summary
Molly, a movie actress with a five-month-old son, is going through a divorce. Her best friend Abby came out as lesbian at 29 and has spent the past year recovering from being dumped by her first girlfriend. The two plan a quiet Thanksgiving together. Molly invites Jeff, the man she has been seeing, to stay for dinner, and their mutual friend Lauren arrives with her husband and children. Lauren also brings several single lesbians, hoping Abby will start dating again. Molly's estranged mother Helen shows up unannounced from Sweden, wanting to mend fences with her daughter and meet her grandchild, and she has secretly invited Gunnar, a former boyfriend of Molly's. Claire, a newly certified shaman who calls herself a shawoman, and Rick with his new wife Brianne also arrive.
