Plot summary
Freda lives in a popular neighborhood of Port-au-Prince with her mother, her sister and her little brother, and the family gets by on a small street food shop. Life around them is precarious and violent, and the strain of daily survival pushes all of them to try to change their situation and reach something better. Freda faces a choice between two futures: leaving Haiti with her boyfriend for a better life, or staying to continue her education and help support her family.
