Plot summary
People come to Père-Lachaise in Paris for two kinds of dead. Some visit their own beloved, a husband, a wife, a relative or a friend, while others honor an artist whose work means something to them and leave a private message or a flower. The cemetery is one of the world's best known, and the artists buried in it come from many eras and corners of the globe. A few graves still draw crowds, while others are forgotten or visited now and then by a single person. The visitors talk about what art and beauty mean to them, and the grounds themselves become an inspiration for the living.
