First Snow (2006) on Netflix

Plot summary

Jimmy Starks is a smooth-talking salesman who is certain a big break is close at hand. When his car stalls in a small New Mexico town, he passes the time with a fortune teller named Vacaro, who tells him good fortune is on the way. The reading turns darker: Vacaro says Jimmy's future goes blank, and that nothing lies beyond the first snow of winter. Back home, Jimmy's boss agrees to back his business venture, but instead of celebrating, Jimmy grows paranoid. His girlfriend Deirdre and his partner Ed watch him come unwound, while his old friend Vincent is newly paroled after a longer sentence because Jimmy sold him out.
