Plot summary
Wolfgang Zenker, 52, is a traveling salesman for a clothing company, and he sells its classic line to shops that dress women over 35. He loses his driver's license in his new Mercedes, and he cannot afford to lose the season's sales. His wife Erika wants a new bathroom, and their son Karsten had planned to celebrate his high school graduation in Spain. Those vacation plans are dropped, and Karsten drives his father from one appointment to the next. Steven Brookmüller, 33, a successful and attractive rival salesman, works the same small towns of southern Germany and calls on the same buyers.
