Plot summary
In an unspecified future, Peter works as an engineer at a factory and lives with his wife Alice and their daughters Hanna and Lucy. Recurring nightmares of violent confrontations with an unknown enemy strain his marriage. He reluctantly visits a clinic for psychiatric help, and there a patient tells him that he has the same visions and that the treatment would only suppress them. Peter comes to believe the visions foretell an invasion. That night, warships bombard the city and troops move through the streets. Peter and Alice barricade their apartment, but an armored soldier breaks through and spots Lucy, who is concealed under a table. The pause lets Peter and Alice overpower him, and Peter takes the soldier's weapon and leads his family out of the building toward the factory.
