Plot summary
Koen de Geyter, Jan Verbeek and Ivan Van Dorpe play in a punk band in Ostend, and their disabilities make each of them unsuited to his instrument. What they lack is a drummer. They want to play once at a music competition, and they decide that Dries, a celebrated writer who has never touched a drum kit, fits because he too has a handicap. Dries agrees, seeing the band as material for a new novel. The group takes the name The Feminists, and their rivals at the contest are the band Harry Mulisch, led by a writer known as Dikke Lul. As Dries works on his book, he looks for ways to manipulate the musicians.
