Plot summary
Microbes come to Earth on a space probe from Venus, and Dr. Emil Zeitman puts them to use in experiments on aging. The work is left unfinished when he dies. Evelyn Avery brings the serum to Lynn Roman, a former famous star who keeps being turned down for the lead roles she wants. Mark Randall, the director of the movie she hopes to appear in, wants someone between twenty and twenty-five for the part. Evelyn tells Lynn that Elaine approved the meeting and shows her an injection made with Zeitman's serum, meant to make her younger again. Lynn takes it.
