In another wing of the same building stay Kareem, who runs a small construction site, his wife Sulu and their only child Ismi, whom Sulu expects to marry within their community. Ismi says a headache keeps her from the mehndi of her friend Jesna, and news then reaches the family that Jesna has eloped with a man nobody knows. Sulu reads names saved on Ismi's phone as a sign of an affair between Ismi and Vivek. On Vivek's birthday, Kareem and Sulu go to Balu's flat for a talk, taking Vivek for Balu and Lakshmi's son.
