Plot summary
Marek, a young Ukrainian, works the streets around the Gare du Nord in Paris with other men from the Eastern Bloc, who look out for one another and fear deportation. Daniel, a French businessman in his fifties, approaches him at the station, and Marek agrees to come to his apartment at six the following evening. The doorbell brings a fourteen-year-old boy who says he is Marek, pushes inside and accuses Daniel of inviting a minor home. Two more young men follow him in, then the rest of the gang and their leader, Boss. They take over the apartment, use its facilities, start a party in the living room and carry off Daniel's belongings while Boss taunts him about his helplessness.
