Dreaming Walls (2022) on Netflix

Plot summary

The Chelsea Hotel has served for decades as a haven for artists and intellectuals, among them Patti Smith, Janis Joplin and the stars of Warhol's Factory. An upmarket renovation that has run for eight years is nearing its end, and the building is set to reopen as one of New York's fashionable luxury hotels. Dozens of people, most of them in their later years, still live in its apartments amid scaffolding and constant construction, and they are of two minds about the work finishing. The camera goes inside their rooms and through the hotel's halls, where the bohemian origins that built its reputation meet the present.
