Plot summary
In Hong Kong, Cheng Lai-sheung saves for a flat with a view of Victoria Harbour, holding down two jobs to get there. As a child she watched developers evict her family and friends from their low-rent housing, and she vowed to buy her parents a new apartment. Her father falls ill with mesothelioma, and because his medical history was never declared, her insurance no longer pays for his treatment; paying for it herself drains what she has put aside. The bank will lend her only 70% of the price. Her married lover refuses to give her money for the hospital bills. She fixes her hopes on a flat at the Victoria Bay No. 1 high-rise, near the harbor.

- At the world premiere of Dream Home in Udine, Italy, on 23 April 2010, two audience members vomited and one fainted during the screening.
- Dream Home was due in Hong Kong cinemas in October 2009 but was held up by legal disputes between the company and director Pang Ho-cheung, who carried on with post-production anyway.
- Star Josie Ho said she pushed Pang Ho-cheung to make Dream Home more violent and outrageous, while Pang wanted the film more violent in a realistic manner.
