Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Dragon Lord (1982)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Dragon Lord went over budget and took twice as long to shoot as planned because Jackie Chan kept retaking shots until they were exactly as he wanted. One scene is reputed to have needed 2,900 takes, though sources disagree on whether it was the opening human pyramid or a Jianzi game sequence.
- Dragon Lord was the first Jackie Chan film to include outtakes, or bloopers. Chan said he was inspired by the bloopers at the end of The Cannonball Run, in which he also starred, and all of his later films include outtakes.
- According to his book I Am Jackie Chan: My Life in Action, Jackie Chan injured his chin during a stunt on Dragon Lord, which made it difficult for him to say his lines and to direct.
- The opening bun festival scene of Dragon Lord was originally meant to end the film, but Jackie Chan moved it to the start because he wanted a spectacular opening.
