Plot summary
Astronomer Karl Sorenson reads an ancient civilization's timeline as a warning: an asteroid is headed for Earth. Other scientists dismiss the claim. Unable to make himself heard, he leads a group of militant followers in seizing a nuclear missile silo, intending to fire its missiles at the asteroid. The FBI asks his daughter Katherine, a respected scientist, to persuade her father to give up the site. Katherine's own research supports what he has been saying. She turns for help to Paul, the FBI agent ordered to watch her, and the two of them set out to convince the scientific community that the danger is real.
