Plot summary
Elizabeth, the wife of Las Vegas middle school history teacher Tom Robinson, is out riding in the desert when she comes upon a trafficking deal gone wrong. She sees the gangster Jimmy Dolan shoot two coyotes and one of the people he was smuggling, and she barely escapes from his men. Her phone is left behind, and they use it to identify her. A body with its lips sewn shut is then left at the couple's home as a warning. The Robinsons go to the authorities, who put them into witness protection. Believing herself pregnant, Elizabeth slips out of the hotel for a pregnancy test, and the couple's car explodes.
