Plot summary
The documentary follows the eight weeks in 2012 during which Raf Simons, newly appointed artistic director of the Christian Dior fashion house, puts together his first haute couture collection, from the atelier's work to the show. In the atelier, premieres d'atelier Florence Chehet and Monique Bailly and their colleagues carry out the making of the collection while the deadline closes in. The documentary sets that work beside the words of the house's founder, Christian Dior, whose autobiography is read by the poet Omar Berrada, so the present collection is measured against the past. Simons was at first reluctant to be filmed, and the crew began with one cameraman and limited access before the project opened up.
