Plot summary
By 2033, after a civil war and martial law, the United States keeps the Red Zone, an enormous prison camp holding more than a million violent felons. A criminal called the Reaper is extracting sarin to spill into the national water supply, and a prisoner named FX films him discussing the plan. Governor Reagan Black learns of it and stages a death race inside the prison system, televised and hosted by Harvey Winkler and Jennifer Ramirez. Black assembles four teams: the Severed Head Gang, Homeland Security, Vaginamyte, and Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope. Black awards points for killing loose prisoners and promises freedom to whichever team brings back the Reaper, and chips implanted in the racers kill anyone who breaks the rules.
