Plot summary
During the 1941 Nazi invasion of Russia, Vladimir leads a squad of partisans who operate behind German lines from a hideout in the wintry countryside. Their routine is disrupted when Nina, a ballerina who has become separated from her troupe, is brought to the camp. She has never handled a gun, she says, and she knows nothing of fighting, cooking, mending or cleaning. Vladimir doubts she will be of any use to the group.

- Days of Glory was one of a handful of Hollywood films made during World War II to build American support for the Soviet alliance against Nazi Germany; such films later became targets of Cold War investigations by the House Un-American Activities Committee, among them Mission to Moscow and Song of Russia.
- Days of Glory marked the screen debut not only of Gregory Peck but of Tamara Toumanova and most of the other principal actors.
- The film carried the last screen appearance of actor Erford Gage, who afterwards joined the U.S. Army and was killed in action in 1945.
