Plot summary

Daisy lives on Quokka Rocks, the island where tourists arrive to take selfies with quokkas, and her parents run its tourism trade. Bored by the daily routine, she wants a place at the World's Scariest Games, whose champion is named World's Scariest Animal. Her parents believe quokkas should stay cuddly and intend her to become the new face of the island. They send her to Sanctuary City to pose for pictures, and there she reaches the arena, learning that qualifying rounds open the next day. Ronda Saltie, the tournament's leading athlete, mocks the idea of a quokka competing and says Daisy must find a coach. That night drop bears take her stand; she flees and comes upon Frankie Scales, a grouchy crocodile who once held the title, and he agrees to train her.
