Plot summary
On September 11, 2001, 38 planes are grounded in Gander, Newfoundland, and about 7,000 airline passengers are stranded in the small Canadian town. Its residents house and welcome the travelers, whom the locals call come from aways. The stage production was recorded live in May 2021 in New York City at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theater with the 2021 Broadway cast, following the shutdown of Broadway during the COVID-19 pandemic.
