Plot summary
A cocaine dealer from Oakland, California, Charles Cosby grew up there in a broken home. He sends a fan letter to Griselda Blanco, known as the Cocaine Godmother, who is doing time in a federal prison close by. Blanco, though locked up, keeps her drug business going through Cosby and other go-betweens, bringing cocaine into California and moving it on to buyers in other states. Six months after the letter, Cosby is a millionaire several times over, Blanco's lover, and the man running a business worth forty million dollars a year. The documentary also goes back to Blanco's earlier years, her rise in the Miami cocaine trade, the criminal conflict that grew there, and her move to California.
