Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Hell and Back Again (2011)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- The documentary was filmed in its entirety with a Canon EOS 5D Mark II, which gave Dennis trouble with the sound, the image stabilization and the focus, and overheated in about 15 minutes because of the high temperatures in Afghanistan.
- A scene in which a village is secured is under-laid with actual sounds of war-fighting slowed down to 2% of their original speed, which results in a persistent drone.
- On his first day with the Marines, director Danfung Dennis met Nathan Harris when, despite the high temperatures, Harris gave him his last bottle of water.
