Plot summary
Diana writes romance novels, and she learns that Maple Creek, a pioneer village, has fallen on hard times. She lends her name to a Christmas gala there, hoping it will draw visitors who want to spend the holiday the way pioneers did, and she asks her family and friends to pitch in. Carter, the village blacksmith who also keeps its history, objects to her approach at every turn, and the two of them have to find a way to work side by side before Christmas. On the night before the gala, Diana's secret crush, Greg, arrives at Maple Creek, leaving her uncertain about her feelings.
