Plot summary
Britt MacMasters is a U.S. marshal. He comes home from a mission to find his father wounded and his son gone. The outlaw Jed Blake has taken the boy. Britt gathers a posse and rides after him, with a gunslinging deputy and a Pawnee tracker beside him. The chase runs toward the Red Desert, close to the country the Sioux claim as their own.
