Plot summary
Morten is ten years old. His guardian is reluctant and mean-spirited, and his father, a captain, is away at sea. A chance meeting with Senór Cucaracha, an inept magician, leaves the boy no bigger than an insect, shrunken by a magical fog gun. Trapped aboard his own toy ship, he shares it with a wicked Spider Queen and a Scorpion Pirate, and the model boat crosses the flooded cafe.
