Plot summary
Cliff is driving his girlfriend Lauren, her younger brother Eric and their friend Alex home from a concert when, drunk, he runs the car off the road. Near an abandoned church foundation they light flares and build a fire, then take turns telling stories. One follows honeymooners Rick and Valerie, who park their RV in the Nevada countryside despite a local man's warning to move on. Another follows eleven-year-old Amanda, who chats online with a girl named Jessica while her parents are out and her sister Katherine is meant to be watching her. In the last, Scott's motorcycle fails in a rainstorm and he shelters at a farmhouse with a mute woman, Heather, who writes on a chalkboard to him.
