Paul Salamoff
Biography
Paul Salamoff is a writer, producer, film executive and comic book creator who began his career in special effects makeup. Born in Natick, Massachusetts, he grew up on science fiction and horror and moved to California after high school to study film at USC. He spent years as a make-up effects artist on more than forty movies, ten television shows and many commercials before turning to writing. His screenplays include The Dead Hate The Living, which he co-wrote with Dave Parker, along with The St. Francisville Experiment (2000) and Alien Siege, made for the SyFy channel. He wrote the novel The Silent Planet and two nonfiction books about filmmaking, and for comics he wrote Vincent Price Presents, Black Scorpion and Logan's Run: Last Day. As a production executive with David Lancaster Productions and later Bold Films he worked on films including Legion and Bobby, and he produced several Saturn Awards.
