Plot summary
The photographer's assignment is a calendar of Armenian churches. His wife travels with him as his translator, and Ashot, a local man, serves as their driver and guide. The photographer narrates. The Armenia scenes stay inside his point of view, and his wife and driver talk to him while looking straight into the camera. He also carries a video camera to make a travelogue, and parts of the journey appear through that footage. While the work goes on, he and his wife grow further apart.
