Plot summary
Stanley Caldwell writes scripts at a cabin near Summit Lake. He kidnaps young women and drowns them in the lake, then keeps their bodies in what he calls a garden on the lake bed. He does this to research a killer for a screenplay. Searching for another subject, he notices Mallory, who works at a movie theater and admits she is afraid of water. He follows her from work and forces her into his van.
