Plot summary
In 1974 Theodore Robert Bundy studies at the Seattle University School of Law and has a girlfriend, Lee, while working shifts at a crisis center near the campus. His family and friends know him as handsome, intelligent and well spoken; they know nothing of the stalking, the voyeurism or the thefts. He kills a woman who calls the hotline and abuses her body. After that he enters the bedrooms of young women, or persuades them into his car by posing as an officer or as someone disabled, then drives them somewhere from which they cannot get away. His coursework in law and police procedure teaches him how investigations work, so the descriptions the authorities put together do not match him. Witnesses have given the police a nickname for him.
