Plot summary
Charles Bukowski, an American author, wrote Notes of a Dirty Old Man, Love Is a Dog from Hell and the autobiographical novels Women, Hollywood and Post Office. A documentary about him places vintage recordings of his poetry readings alongside interviews with his fans. The older film clips in it are grainy black and white, shot by a friend of Bukowski's because of a lack of funding. That footage presents the boozing and brawling of his life in a romantic light.
