Plot summary
Irene Foster is a gifted performer who wants Robert Gordon, her former sweetheart and now a Broadway producer, to give her a part in his new musical. Gordon is too busy dealing with a wealthy widow who is financing the show and with a dirt-dishing gossip columnist to pay any attention to Irene. His secretary Kitty Corbett, a wisecracking woman with a heart of gold, sees Irene's talent and decides to help. Kitty and Irene work together to make Gordon realize what he is missing, but Irene's attempts to show her ability still do not persuade him to hire her.
