Plot summary
Chantibabu is a respected paint industry entrepreneur in Vijayawada, where he lives with his wife Mahalakshmi and their son Babu. Mahalakshmi's four stepbrothers work in the family business, and although each household is separate, they all celebrate every occasion together. Peddabbai, the eldest of the stepbrothers, is envious of Chantibabu's fame, since their father lent Chantibabu ₹400 to start out. His wife Rajyalakshmi suggests that a marriage between their daughter and Babu would help him, and Peddabbai looks for a way to raise the matter with his brother-in-law. Meanwhile Kasi Annapurna, a free-spirited NRI, arrives in India, and her father, a friend of Chantibabu's, leaves her at his house. Babu and Kasi Annapurna grow close, though they disagree about what life with a large family should look like.
