Plot summary
Adib Mirza, a reputed businessman and politician, has spoiled Ariyan, his only son, into a life of drugs, scandals and violence, and always stands as a shield when consequences come. Ariyan hosts wild parties, spending large sums on intoxication and entertainment, and at one of them he meets Nitu, who comes to him for a donation to a charity. He falls for her instantly and pursues her with expensive gifts. When Prince, the son of a friend of Ariyan's maternal uncle Shihab, insults Nitu, Ariyan retaliates against him. Prince then asks his father, Naved Khan, to bring his elder brother Farhan back to the country, and Naved refuses.

- On 7 November 2024, Shakib Khan was struck above the eye by a door on the Borbaad set in Mumbai and taken to hospital, where he had a CT scan; after two hours of care he went back to filming.
- Bangladesh's certification board objected to 12 minutes of Borbaad, citing excessive violence including a graphic throat-slitting scene, and required cuts instead of the requested "A" certificate; the decision led to protests on social media.
- Borbaad was pirated the day it opened; after an HD copy leaked, an FIR was filed at Gulshan Police Station and the producer said at a press conference that the leak came from inside the country. Distributor Qinetic Music reported 248,691 pirated videos removed from Facebook in seven days, including a record 80,000 on 3 May alone.
- Borbaad became the first Bangladeshi film to enter IMDb's "Top 100 most popular films", ranking 44th on the chart seventeen days after its release.
- Borbaad's Tk 15 lakh booking was the highest pre-release rental for a Bangladeshi film, beating the maximum booking price of Tk 7 to Tk 12 lakh set by Shakib Khan's 2024 hit Toofan.
- Shooting on Borbaad, set to begin in late August or September 2024, was delayed by the anti-discrimination student movement in Bangladesh during July and August.
