Plot summary
A communal riot breaks out in Ismailpur, a small town, and the place descends into anarchy as violence between Hindus and Muslims spreads. Four people who are rivals to one another, Munni, Raghav, Shabnam and Jabbar, take shelter in the home of an old woman. Each of the four is a victim of the riots and carries a painful story connected with them. The old woman is waiting for her son to arrive. The four are hostile to one another at first, and conflicts break out among them during the night they spend under her roof, while the town outside remains in the grip of the unrest.
