Plot summary
An old high school girlfriend sends John Twiller her greetings, and the note sends him to the shelf for his yearbook, which he calls his Book of Love. The pages carry him back to 1956, when his family had just arrived in a new town and he was finishing school there. He spent his time with a geeky friend, Paul, and he tried to win over Lily, a popular girl who was going steady with Angelo, a bully. Angelo's sister Gina, who is feisty, also caught Jack's attention, and with his friends Crutch, Floyd and Spider he kept looking for a way to change Lily's mind.
