Bob and the Monster (2011) on Netflix

Plot summary

Bob Forrest came out of the indie rock scene and spent years in a life-threatening struggle with drug addiction. The documentary follows him from those years into his later work as a drug counselor in the United States, a role in which he has been both influential and controversial. People who knew him along the way, among them fellow musicians, sit for interviews, and their testimony is set beside animation, archival concert performances and personal video that he shot himself. His own music runs through the film and carries much of the story. Work on the project stretched across six years.
