Plot summary
Timmy lives in Deptford but his mother sends him to a secondary school in Peckham, where the curriculum is better and where he will stay away from his old friend Kiron. On his first day he befriends Marco, and later Dwayne and Hakeem. Marco's older brother Switcher leads the Peckham Boys, a gang at odds with the Ghetto Boys from Deptford. Four years on, a classmate, Karina, invites the boys to a party; Timmy goes because Leah, whom he has long liked, will be there, and the two dance. Attacks between the two areas pull Timmy and Marco toward opposite sides of the conflict.

- At a screening of Blue Story at Star City in Birmingham on 23 November 2019, police were attacked by a group armed with machetes and five teenagers were arrested. Families watching Frozen 2 were evacuated, and police said up to 100 teenagers were involved.
- After the disorder at Star City, Vue Cinemas canceled all screenings of Blue Story, saying that more than 25 significant incidents had been reported in 16 cinemas in the film's first 24 hours. Showcase also stopped showing it, then reversed the ban after it was labeled racist.
- Lewisham and other London boroughs refused to allow Blue Story to be shot there, on instructions from the office of London Mayor Sadiq Khan, so the £1.3 million film was made mainly in Enfield. Director Rapman says no one at the mayor's office had read the script.
- Blue Story grossed £4.7 million on a £1.4 million budget, making it the highest grossing British urban film of all time.
- Rapman's original 2014 Blue Story YouTube trilogy was inspired by his own life as a working-class boy from Lewisham who attended school in Peckham, two areas then in a postcode war.
- After YouTube commenters called for Rapman's 2014 trilogy to be turned into a film, he wrote the feature-length script, which took six months to complete.
