Plot summary

Dany Arnaud, a teenager, fails to come home, and the case goes to Police Commissioner François Visconti, an alcoholic whose relationship with his own teenage son, Denis, is difficult. Denis is the same age as the missing boy and is suspected of drug trafficking. No one knows what happened to the boy. His mother, Solange Arnault, is elegant and fond of flirting, while his father, Raphaël Arnault, is silent and rough. The parents' accounts give Visconti nothing useful. He also meets Yann Bellaile, a teacher who lives in the same building as the Arnaults and offers his help with the case.
