Plot summary

Dany Dorémus works as a secretary. Her boss, Michel Caravaille, invites her to spend the night at his home to finish a project. Michel says his wife, Anita, will be glad to see her again. When the couple leaves for a dinner party, Dany feels let down. She dozes off and dreams that Michel kisses her and smothers her. She wakes when they return. The next morning, Michel asks her to go with him and Anita to the airport and bring their car back to the house. Alone with the car, Dany tells herself that no one will notice if she borrows it for a trip to the sea. After shopping, a café owner asks if she is feeling better. Dany replies that she has never been to any café in the town.
