Before You Know It (2019) on Netflix

Plot summary

In New York City, the Gurner family struggles to keep its small community theater running, where Mel performs in plays he wrote for audiences that keep shrinking. His older daughter Jackie, an actress raising teenage daughter Dodge, is stuck in perennial adolescence; her sister Rachel handles the business side and, in trying to be the responsible one, has become a control freak. Rachel lines up a playwright fellowship for Mel, including a premiere of his latest play, and he sabotages it. The sisters learn that their mother, who they believed had died, is alive and working as a soap opera actress.
