Plot summary
Joseph Bau is a Polish-born Israeli artist. He is held in the Płaszów camp from 1942 to 1945, during World War II. There he meets Rebecca, a fellow prisoner, and they begin a relationship. In 1943 they marry in the women's barracks of the camp. Joseph uses his drawing to stay alive and to help hundreds of others escape. The story is based on the real lives of Joseph and Rebecca Bau.
